Details:  This weather is nuts.  Nice to run in, but bizarre for Switzerland in April…hmmm, global warming anyone?  But hey, people don't react until it is TOO LATE.  We, the human race, will manage to kill off the human race…and perhaps all other life forms besides cockroaches (I hear they can live through everything)…It's not a question, it's only a matter of time…maybe a lot of time, but time all the same…

Details:  I have a lot to do in school right now so I am kind of going nuts right now…Although I DO like to be stressed, I don't like stress…I know, that doesn't make any sense.  But I hate to be bored…  Maybe I need to find a nice balance between relaxation and stress…I haven't found that happy medium just yet because I am either bored out of my mind or stressed to high h-e-double hockey sticks (as they say).

Saturday – April 21, 2007

Sunday .. April 22, 2007-Oh MY, am I an amateur!!!
Training: 22 minutes warm up, 1:08…..bonked at 16k…actually bonked earlier, but kept running….cool down was my ride in the ambulance to the finish line
Day Mileage: 12 miles
Week Total:  52.5 miles
Weather:  hot, race was at 1:30 pm..was about 75 degrees
Details:  Okay, am a complete amateur!  I went out WAY too fast…  I got competitive…We started with the men so I kinda' went with the flow…It was really hot, I drank some water during the race (a couple times) and got cramps…Yeah…Then I bonked around 12km, I kept on going, but then, my body stopped me…I had some sort of panic attack or something and couldn't breathe…so yeah, I fell over and yadayadayada needed a RIDE to the finish line…

Sooo, I am going to the doctor next week to check up on my allergies.  The seasons are different here than from home of course so I am not sure when the evil pollen will strike!  It hasn't rained here for a LONG while, over 3 weeks, and I am guessing that the pollen count is high.  So yeah, I need to do some workouts with taking in water all the time and getting my body used to it because apparently, I couldn't handle it.

So, some mottos for this half catastrophic (slight exaggeration) marathon…not my strongest debut…
If you don't make mistakes, you can't learn from them.
You need experience, experience, experience under your belt!  In this case, I need to simulate these "experiences" like drinking water and/or sugar water (Gatorade and the like) during my workouts…  I kind of underestimated that fact ,BUT, I also didn't expect it to be THIS hot in April…THE WEATHER IS TOO HOT FOR APRIL HERE IN SIWTZERLAND!!!  I drank twice and I was fine, but when I went for more, it was all over… Well, just gotta' keep on moving, keep on training, keep on working…
