To succeed you need to find something to hold on to, something to motivate you, something to inspire you.  –T. Dorsett

I have this friend who talks about being inspired…He always says, "I want to be inspired…like I used to be inspired."  Like I used to….  I remember my college coach, Rollie Geiger (N.C. State Coach-old man hahaha! Just kidding coach) who, when I came in my freshman year, opened the year up with sitting all of us in a room and talk about the different kinds of freshman that he had just brought in.  At that time, I think he had about 4 state champions and a few foot locker finalist qualifiers…  And I just remember walking out of that room and just feeling inspired.  He had this way of pumping us up and making us believe we could accomplish anything that year if we just worked for it…  I haven't been inspired like that in a while!!!  And I think I need it .  I think I thrive off of inspiration and inspiration can't always come from within.  I guess right now I am just waiting for my last final to be over!!!  After that, maybe inspiration will hit me once again!  I am looking forward to summer training…THAT MEANS summer vacation from school!  I am always thankful for the breaks we get in school because I think my brain would stop functioning if we didn't have the breaks.  I am looking forward to proper, high mileage, core strength, arch exercises, and everything that BELONGS in my schedule!  I guess school belongs, but I need to be a bit selfish if I want to get to where I am going…  Or maybe a bit more selfless?  People don't like the word selfish, but there is a balance you can find.  But in the end, I have to make sure I get done what I need to get done and if this means sacrificing a few things that are too much, then that's what I'll have to do.  I say, you need to have a bit of an ego if you want to make it.  This doesn't mean profit at the detriment of others…  For me this means DOING WHAT YOU NEED TO DO TO IMPROVE YOURSELF.  I have a hard time with this, because I try to do too many things for other people and end up working my schedule around others'.  So where is this line between having a healthy level of selfishness to "do" my sport properly, and helping out others….I am still learning where these boundaries are.  But our sport requires sacrifice…
