For the 4th year in a row, the top two belonged to new champions Pennsbury and runners up Unionville. The two programs have stayed above the rest, this time they were only separated by just 5 points. Cardinal O’Hara impressed throughout the season and were worthy of the 3rd place position. Each team had only one or two seniors in their varsity seven, making it possible for the three of these teams to return in 2015 for another top of the division battle.
Brianna Schwartz completed her trifecta of state gold medals, winning the cross country title to record one gold medal in all 3 running seasons. Olivia Sargent of Pennsbury ran her fastest time of the season at states to finish 2nd. Madeleine Davison of North Allegheny didn’t finish worse than 3rd in any race this season, including states. Marissa Sheva of Pennridge had her 2nd best state finish on Saturday (4th). Eight seniors occupy the top 25 in 2014, setting up for a special 2015 season.
