Gary Gottesfeld captured this sequence of four photos showing that Ian and Greg had actually opened more of a gap on Miller after they had crossed the starting area of the course, before reaching the turnaround.
After the turn, Greg has dropped back, as Ian looks back to check on his teammate and the competition.
Greg is about to be passed, and Ian continues to look back.

Miller isn't entirely sure he has it won, but better to be safe, than passed.
