10/2 WKND: Bauer 18:24 @ Westtown! Villa Maria win @ McQuaid! North Penn sweep again!

Grove City

Marianne Abdalah of Vincentian Academy made it four wins in four weeks and recorded her fastest time of the season at Grove City. The junior ran 18:46 to defeat Lauren Gronbeck of Eden Christian Academy by just over a minute. Her victory was also part of a big team victory for her squad, as they won the team title with 36 points to defeat hosts Grove City by 48.

For the boys, Domenic Peretta of Beaver Falls earned a comfortable victory in 16:48 to win by 13 seconds. Behind him, Grove City recorded a 46 second spread and came within one place of securing a perfect team score. They finished with 16 points to rebound nicely from their 3rd place finish at Foundation last week.

Salesianum

For the 2nd week in a row, the North Penn trio of Ariana Gardizy (20:01), Phoebe Clowser (20:13) and Olivia Dyer (20:19) finished 1-2-3 in the girls championship race! Also for the 2nd straight week, their sweep led to a team victory, this time defeating Great Valley 37-45!

Archbishop Wood won the girls large school race by a slim two points over Baldwin thanks to a 1-2 sweep by Natalie Cornley (21:41) and Vicky Nangle (21:56). Masterman finished 3rd in the small school race with 102 points led by an 11th place finish from Marina Mancoridis.

For the boys, Carlisle finished 3rd in the championship race by a slim margin behind two Delaware Schools. They scored 63 points to miss out on victory by only 10. Matt Wisner led the way with a 3rd place finish in 17:04. Lukas Marcelis of Wissahickon won the large school race with a time of 16:57. Great Valley won the team title by a slim one point over Baldwin, 60-61, thanks to placing all five runners in the top 20. Joe Previdi of Masterman won the small school race in 16:56 to lead his team to a 2nd place finish with 85 points.

Westtown

Jerrica Bauer of George School got the best of Brooke Hutton of Coatesville through the cold and rain at Westtown to win her 2nd invitational of the season. Her time of 18:24 was nearly 30 seconds better than Hutton in a dual that was neck and neck for 2 miles. Coatesville did win the team title with a score of 44 points to defeat West Chester Henderson. For the boys, Charlie Scales of The Haverford School ran 16:38 to cruise to the individual title. Team title honors went to Downingtown East with 47 points and a 28 second spread.

McQuaid

Villa Maria Academy continued their winning ways, taking their show to New York and taking home the seeded small school A race with 68 points to win by 41. Claire Brown finished 3rd overall in the 3 mile race in 17:32. They achieved the victory while missing some varsity runners. The top four all finished in the top 20.
