12/18: DVGTCA #2 (Lehigh University - Philip Rauch Fieldhouse, Bethlehem, Pa.)

Tonight at Lehigh, the second DVGTCA meet goes off. After a solid first week, there should be a nice slate of races and events to look forward to tonight.

Chanel Brissett, who won the 60 meters and anchored the winning 4x200 last week, will turn to the 60 meter hurdles this time. She put down a good result and that event last year, proving just the kind of stellar athlete she is. Her teammate Madison Langley-Walker will join her in the event and we'll get another look at Perkiomen Valley frosh Christina Warren, who ran well at Ursinus last weekend.

Another freshman standout, Kouri Peace of Pennridge will run in the 300 meters tonight. Peace was third to Brissett and Norristown's Jayana Webb in the 60 meters last week. She'll certainly be one to watch. In the 600, Friends' Central's Gabrielle Wilkinson will make her open season debut. She ran a solid 1200 meter leg of the FCS's DMR a week ago and will step down from her primary event, the 800, to get some speed in in the 600.

Anna Willig of Great Valley headlines the 800. The 3000 should be a good battle between DELCO rivals Strath Haven's Maia Mesyngier and Ridley's Jamie Green. Also look out for Harriton's Tasha Greene, Upper Dublin's Sarah Smith and CB East's Tate Dawson, O'Hara's Eleanor Mancini, and North Penn's Ariana Gardizy in the deep 3K field.

In the field, Souderton's Moira O'Malley will look to improve on her PA#1 5-3 in the high jump. Henderson's Allison McGlynn and North Penn's Uche Nwogwugwu will try for the upset. A pair of Council Rock South vaulters--Savannah Wood (who went 10-6 last week) and one of the state favorites, Dominique Franco--will go after gold.

The triple jump will also present a good battle between Langley-Walker, returning state medalist Allison Williams of North Penn, and current PA#1 Evelyn Berecz of Downingtown East.

12/19: TFCAofGP #2 (Lehigh University - Philip Rauch Fieldhouse, Bethlehem, Pa.)

The boys of southeast Pennsylvania will head again to Lehigh for their second meet of the year. let's take a look at what to look out for.

It's always hard to predict what will happen in the relays midseason, but it looks like Abington (after a strong debut in the 4x800 last week) may be going after a 4x400. Meanwhile, CB West could be looking for a big time in the distance medley relay.

Miles Green of St. Joe's Prep should be a threat in the 60 meter hurdles, while Downingtown East's Jeremy Jennings headlines the 60 meter dash. Terrence Laird of Coatesville, who made noise with his PA#1 60 meter dash last week, will be the top seed in the 200 on Saturday. The 800 field is shaping up, with CB West's Rock Fortna and Abington's Jake Good squaring off.

looking to the field, Perkiomen Valley's Darnell Randall will be the favorite to win the high jump. Stephen Testa of William Tennent will look to build off his PA#2 21-5.75 that he won with last week. Matt Ludlow of Pennridge and Alex Sislo of LaSalle will be gunning for good early season marks as well, making for a nice LJ field. In the pole vault, Nicholas Marino and his PA#1 14 foot vault will be the heavy favorites.

In Division II, Glen Mills' Keon Rantin (PA#2 200) will debut in the 60 meters this season. Monte Guess (PA#1 60m hurdles) will look to better his initial time.

Colin Wills of Malvern Prep opens up Saturday (boasting a sub-2 PR) as the one of the top threats in the state in the middle distance events. Joe Previdi of Masterman, fresh off a solid XC season, will be the favorite in the DII 3000 meters.

Former PA#1 in the shot (until the event was turned upside last night at Hempfield) Yondell Dudley of Wissahickon will make another appearance.

12/19: Bishop Loughlin Games (Ocean Breeze Track and Field Facility, Staten Island, NY)

The long-running Bishop Loughlin Games makes the move from the Armory to the new Ocean Breeze Track and Field Facility in Staten Island, NY. This Saturday, a number of PA's elite will make the trip in hopes of some fast times at what should be a fast track.

Some notable PA sprinters will be Norristown's Sheila Day in the 55 meters and Springside Chestnut Hill's Brooklynn Broadwater  in the 600 meters

Agnes Mansaray, fresh off a FAST 600 at the first DVG meet, will go after another non-PTFCA event--the 1000 in New York. Looks like the Penn Wood girls are also putting together a hot 4x400 to watch out for.

On the boys' side, Jahmair Craig will be one to watch in the 55 meters. PA#1 Josh McLemore of Downingtown West will look to make even more noise in a hot 200.

On the distance side, Methacton's Jeff Kirshenbaum and Souderton's Connor McMenamin will compete in the 2 mile, looking for fast times.
