Friday night at Haverford, the DVGTCA took to the Lutnick Center. North Penn's Uche Nwogwugwu (above, photo by Patty Morgan) took home the gold in a new PA#1 time and the Penn Wood girls continued on their tear of an indoor season, just missing out on a PA#1.
Nwogwugwu ran a 57.86, good enough for the top time in the state. What makes it even more impressive is that she did it on the tight turns of Haverford's track. She bested a good field that included Germantown Friends' Sarah Walker (second in PA#3 58.32), Cardinal O'Hara's Olivia Arizin (third in 59.32)
The Penn Wood DMR (above, photos by Patty Morgan) just missed North Penn's top time in the state, winning in a 12:35.79, just .13 off the PA#1.
Other good performances were turned in by Alicia Collier of Penncrest (first in the 60m in a PA#6 7.97) and Notre Dame's Mikayla Schneider, who won the 800m in 2:21.13.
