While the threat of snow looms over Saturday, a nice solution for some eastern PA girls teams is Friday's Panther Classic hosted by Cheltenham. And there will be no shortage of big District 1 names at this meet. We can surely expect a bunch of PA#1 in Wyncote.

Headlining the meet will be the host team's Chanel Brissett, who will return to the sprints for this meet. Brissett will contest the 100 and 200 meters, where she's favored in both. In the 100, Perkiomen Valley's Cheyenne Churchville and Methacton's Kelly Groth will look for fast times. Then in the 200, Churchville returns, along with with Penncrest's Alicia Collier, Methacton's Caroline Duffy, Penn Wood's Elicia Moore and Cheltenham's Alexis Crosby and Bria Barnes. As if that wasn't enough, the 400 will be equally loaded. Crosby and Duffy are entered along with the Springside Chestnut Hill duo of Brooklynn Broadwater and Alexandria Kitchell. PA#2 Terri Turner of Penn Wood and then Pennsbury's Dasia Pressley will make for a wide-open, dangerously fast race.

Broadwater is entered in the 300 meter hurdles. She'll be going up against Cheltenham's Madison Langley-Walker and Penn Wood's Janae Pitt in what could produce a new PA#1. In the 100 meter hurdles, Langley-Walker and Pitt are entered along with Perkiomen Valley's Christina Warren, Council Rock South's Elke Knecht and Central's Taylar Dallas.

In the 800, Turner is in the field in addition to her Penn Wood teammate Agnes Mansaray. Pennsbury's Maddie Sauer and Lizzy Kirk will look to challenge, as will Wissahickon's Lotte Black and Hayley Ross.

Mary Webb of Pennsbury will make her invitational debut in the 1600. She be accompanied by teammate Meri Twomey. Turner is also in this field in what should be another fast race on the day. Speaking of Pennsbury's duos, Olivia Sargent and Hannah Molloy will lead the 3200 field with Cheltenham's MaryGrace Rittler and Sarah Richart also in the race.

Abington's Sianni McLeoad and Cheltenham's Ashley Alexander will be the two top seeds in the shot put. In the pole vault, Council Rock South's Savannah Wood will be aiming for the PA#1 spot.

On the runway, Perk Valley's Warren will be favored in the triple jump after a nice freshman indoor campaign in the event. She's also in the long jump, where Langely-Walker is favored. Look out for Perk Valley's Rebekah Bondi and SCH's Essence Walden.

In the 4x100, Cheltenham will likely be in search of a new PA#1, with Perk Valley and Upper Darby putting out strong teams. The 4x400 should be a very exciting and fast matchup between Springside Chestnut Hill (PA#1 4x4 from indoors) and Penn Wood (4x4 indoor state champions). Cheltenham will also be in that field looking to breakup the party. Central Bucks West will be the team to watch in the 4x800.
