May 22 - June 22

 

Thursday – May 22, 2008 to June 2, 2008 BREAK!
But not voluntarily... The first 7 days was due to my knee and its
swelling! THEN, I got sick…what else, but bronchitis. I was supposed
to run a race on June 1st, my first race OF THE YEAR, but alas, sick,
sick, sick. I was busy studying for finals so I think maybe the
stress brought the cold on again…I decided I have to eat more fruit so
I don't get sick so often! Anyway, finals are over and it's back to
training!

Tuesday – June 3, 2008

Training: 25 minutes (my last final exam was today)
Supplements: Just glad to be back out there…although, I coughed for
20 of the 25 minutes I was running.
Details: Details…hmm, well, felt like crap!

Wednesday – June 4, 2008
Training: 30 minutes
Supplements: abs, of which I have none ;-) am working on that…
Details: It's been two weeks since the incident of busting my knee
and it still hurts! I have been going to physical therapy and it IS
at least getting a little better. I can't believe it has taken so
long though! I went to the doctor though and he said that I am
allowed to run. He did some ultrasound on my knee and told me it
wasn't broken  or damaged…Well, glad for that!

Thursday – June 5, 2008
Training:
Supplements: 40 minutes
Details: I did some strength work today and got really sore
afterwards! Guess it's been a while…

Friday – June 6, 2008

Training: 44 minutes
Supplements: Abs, only 10 minutes!
Details: I feel the time off… doh!

Saturday – June 7, 2008
Training: 48 minutes
Supplements: build, build, build…waiting to do my next workout!
Sunday – June 8, 2008
Training: 45
Supplements: did some strength work in front of the TV!!
Details: patience…dammit!

Monday – June 9, 2008

Training: 40 minutes
Supplements:
Details: Holy crap! Allergies, OUT OF CONTROL! I could NOT run
without sneezing every 20 seconds!!! They've never been this bad
before, better dig up that Allegra!!!

Tuesday – June 10, 2008
Training: 46 minutes
Supplements: abs again…if I have to choose a supplement, this is what
I usually go for…hrm, should probably switch it up a bit…
Details: Not many details to tell… Am just working on building my base up…

Wednesday – June 11, 2008
Training: 49 minutes
Supplements: "Fussgymnastik"… foot exercises… trying to get my arch stronger…
Details: Was very careful running by the place I fell last time :-)

Thursday – June 12, 2008
Training: 46 minutes
Supplements: abs, short program
Details: Felt kind of tired today…

Friday – June 13, 2008
Training: 50 minutes
Supplements: foot exercises….I got a cramp in my arch…OOUUUUUUCH!
Details: One more week of continuous runs and base building and then
off to my first workout!!!

Saturday – June 14, 2008

Training: 20 minutes

Sunday – June 15, 2008

Training: 50 minutes
Supplements: Strength work in front of the TV again  This method is
actually quite productive for me…watch some Seinfeld and do some
self-strength exercises and you forget the pain :-) heehee.

Monday – June 16, 2008
Training: 60 minutes, semi-hilly
Day Mileage: I've never measured, but I think about 8.5 miles!
Week Mileage: 8.5 miles
Supplements: Core strength at Daytona Gym in Thun!
Details: No more teachers, no more books, no more teachers' dirty
looks…school's out for summer!!!! I have some papers to write, but a
lot more time to train!!! And to FOCUS!

Tuesday – June 17, 2008
Training: 63
Day Mileage: call it 8.5
Week Mileage: 17
Supplements: foot exercise…
Details: I still feel the knee a bit, but the doctor said it should
be fine to run on!

Wednesday – June 18, 2008

Training: 62
Day Mileage: 8.5
Week Mileage: 25.5
Supplements: eating lots of food…
Details: I've been eating like crazy lately! I am always starving!
Errm, should PROBABLY stay away from the sugar…have tried that and it
doesn't work so, hey…oh well! Will, ahem, try to try harder…starting
next week!

Thursday – June 19, 2008
Training: Ran with Vivi! 60 minutes on the dot
Day Mileage: 8.5
Week Mileage: 34
Supplements: ABCs with Vivi

Friday – June 20, 2008
Training: 63
Day Mileage: 9 miles
Week Mileage: 43 miles
Supplements: some core training
Details: First workout tomorrow! YAAAAAAY!

Saturday – June 21, 2008

Training: 20 minutes warm up, 6x700 meter STEEP hill!, 20 minute cool down
Day Mileage: 9 miles
Week Mileage: 52 miles
Supplements: the hills were enough supplement for me…
Details: First workout today and it went pretty well…of course very
tough mentally to really push, push, push when I already felt tired
after 4…But I got through them and things will get better with each
workout!

Sunday – June 22, 2008
Training: 61 minutes
Day Mileage: 8.5
Week Mileage: 60.5
Details: Ran with Vivi and Asi today at a pretty good pace…Asi was
"tired…" yeah right! Today was the first super hot day here in
Switzerland!!! Was nice to finally run in a tank top!!!!
