Noah Affolder takes down own course record: McQuaid Invitational Recap


Noah Affolder of Carlisle took down his own course record at the McQuaid Invitational on Saturday, where he and his brother Sam Affolder went 1-3 in the AAA Seeded race at the 52nd edition of the meet.

Noah Affolder ran 14:12 over 3 miles for the convincing win. While his goal was sub-14, he was pleased with the race, as he looks forward to Manhattan next week with the rest of his Carlisle team. Sam Affolder was third in the race in 14:53, five seconds faster than a year ago for him. Watch Noah's record-setting race above and his post-race interview below:

Canon-McMilan was the only full PA squad in the AAA race. they took 12th place out of 17 teams.

The Seeded A race was loaded with plenty of PA talent. Elk County Catholic was the top PA team in the field, continuing their great 2016 season with a second place finish. Watkins Glen (NY) took the win with five in the top 22.

ECC's Zachary Wortman, one of the most improved runners in the state was the highest placed PA runner in the A race, taking fourth in 15:22. His ECC teammate Logan Hoffman was 12th in 15:49. Northeast Bradford was sixth, while Seneca took seventh in the team race. Donovan Myers was the top Seneca finisher, placing sixth in 15:29. NE Bradford's Casey Ellis was right behind him, taking seventh in 15:31. Mercyhurst Prep's Noah Curtin was tenth in 15:45.
