Central Mountain's Alyssa Laughner and Jersey Shore Area's Isaac Davis picked up wins at the Northeast Invitational at Bloomsburg, the site of the District 4 Championship.
Laughner picked up her second win of the season in what has been a busy fall for the junior. She ran a time of 19:38 to take the win, holding off challenges from Mifflinburg's Jillian Miller (second in 19:48) and Danville Area's Elaina Klinger (third in 19:51).
Danville Area was the team champions with 71 points over second place Honesdale, which had 109 points. It's a good sign for Danville as they look to win its eighth straight District 4 team crown.
Davis was a runaway winner in the boys' race, clocking a time of 16:25 to repeat as meet champion. It's Davis' third win of the season, after claiming victories at the Big Valley Invitational and last week's PIAA Foundation Invitational. His time was faster than both of his times on the Bloomsburg course from last season. The junior continues to assert himself as one of the major threats in Class-AA this year.
Milton was the team champion the boys' side with 54 points. Tyler Lesser led the way for Milton with a second place finish in 17:05. North Schuylkill was second with 75 points and Southern Columbia took third with 137 points.
