Rocky Grove Boys' Recap

VARSITY RESULTS

For the second time this season, Jonah Powell took down Connor Walsh.

The District 10 rivals (though not in the same classification), raced each other at Big Red earlier this season and Powell got the bet of Walsh and he was able to follow that up with another win on Saturday at Rocky Grove. Powell clocked in at 16:24 for the win and Walsh took second in 16:34. We talked with Powell afterwards:

Walsh is having a strong senior season. He won earlier this season at McDowell and then was runner-up to Powell twice and third at Sharpsville. His next big test comes in a few weeks against Mercyhurst Prep's Noah Curtin, where he'll look to defend his D10-A title. "I'll bleed if I have to let it go," Walsh said of that upcoming race. He talked with us afterwards, too:

In the team race, Grove City picked up the win with 73 points, 31 points better than second place General McLane. After Joanh Powell's first place, Brandon Pyle was 13th and Luke Owrey and Tyler Quinn were 17th and 18th. They were without Jacob Powell, the usual #2 runner.
