Most of the state was racing for a spot at the PIAA State Championship this weekend, but Stefon Dodoo was flexing at the PAISAA (Independent School) Championships. There, he stormed to a 1:49.69 solo effort, the seventh fastest time in PA History. It is also the fastest time by a junior in PA History, and currently ranks third nationally.
Though he won't race at this weekend's PIAA State Championship, we can expect him to race at a national meet in June.
Carter Smith (Mifflin County) unleashed a 1:52.61 800m at the District 6 3A Championship last week. He'll be one of the favorites in the 3A race, but he'll have to hold off the likes of Dale Hall (Hampton) and Giovanni Mastromonaco (Nazareth), who both broke 1:53 this past week.
