Clarks Summit University Run at the Rec Preview
BOYS: The Lakeland boys 4x400 will take the track. The two-time reigning Class-AA champs outdoors will look to start its season off on the right foot at CSU.
In the distance events, watch out for North Pocono's David Haines. Haines, a District 2 champ in XC, is entered in both the 3,000 meters and 1,600 meters. In the 1,600, he'll see a challenge from the Abington Heights duo of Dan Uhranowsky and Kyle Burke.
North Pocono's Matt Slagus will be the heavy favorite in the boys' shot put.
GIRLS: The Danville girls 4x800 should be a team to watch on Friday. They have a deep distance crew and definitely have the potential to drop a quick time in the relay.
Abington Heights' Katie Dammer is entered in both the 800 meters and 1,600 meters. The junior has raced sparingly in her career indoors, but she emerged as one of the state's top distance runners and will certainly be eyeing big PRs on Friday.
In the 3000 meters, Montrose freshman Hannah Perkins will look for a good start to her track career.
Wyoming Area's Shelby Stackhouse will be one to watch for in both the hurdles and the high jump. In the shot put, North Pocono's Jessica Slagus is favored.
