Boys' Long Jump Preseason Rankings By Classification: AAA | AA | Independent

Like the girls' long jump, we should get a very open competition for state titles in the boys' long jump this spring, with a number of boys creeping close to the 23 foot mark and others who should have a shot at jumping 24 feet.

The top returner would have been Nazareth Area's Jahan Dotson, but the sprinter and jumper transferred to the Peddie School in New Jersey for the start of his junior season. But another state champion---Brendan Sparr of Schuylkill Valley---returns, hoping to retain his state crown in the Class AA long jump.

Sparr jumped a best of 23-11.25 to win the District 3 title last spring, and then won a super close compeititon with Del Val Charter's Jahmair Craig. Both jumped a best of 23-9.5, but Sparr took the win with a better second jump. Sp...
