Like it was during the indoor season, we'll get another good battle for the state title in the girls' shot put between two of the state's best.
Hickory's Tori McKinley will look to add yet another state title to her name before she leaves for Auburn this coming fall. Fresh off her first indoor state championship, McKinley will look to repeat as AA shot put state champ. Last year at states, she took second is the disc, but came back the next day with a vengence and won the shot with a new outdoor PR of 46-2. This indoor season, she furthered that PR to 46-10.25. Her consistency makes her the favorite for the state crown again this spring.
