Girls' 1600m Preseason Rankings By Classification: AAA | AA | Independent

The field of returning 1600/milers is strong this season with a number of top athletes coming back. Last season, Cumberland Valley senior Mady Clahane got her elusive first state title, winning the AAA 1600 meters at the state meet, and while she's graduated, the field is wide open to see some more great moments and new champs this season.

Germantown Academy's Abbe Goldstein ran 4:50.24 for the mile last season at the John Hay Distance Festival after an abbreviated spring season. She came back this fall and winter on a tear. During indoors, she racked up some big wins, including victories at the Hispanic Games, the Millrose Games, and then the state championship. At Millrose, she ran her PR of 4:49.06 in an incredible race. The Harvard-bound Goldstein will have one last season to drop some more fast times.
