DVGTCA Meet #1 - Meet Recap

The girls of the DVGTCA made their first trip to Lehigh on Friday evening, though some bad weather prevented a number of teams from attending.

Central's Lauryn James proved she's a name worth watching for this season in the sprints. The senior ran a pair of state-leading times to open up her winter season. James went 7.85 to take the 60 meter dash win and then came back to go 26.37 to win the 200 meters.

Cheltenham's Alexis Crosby got her senior season off to a good start as well. The Syracuse recruit went 59.50 (PA#2) to win the 400 meters. Brianna Smith of Cheltenham clocked a PA#2 9.46 to win the 60 meter hurdles and also cleared 5-3 to win the high jump. Her teammate Ni Asia Williams went 43.44 to take the 300 meters. Cheltenham ran a time of 4:11.59 to win the 4x400 meter relay.

North Penn also had a solid start to the season. The Lady Knights won the distance medley relay in a PA#1/US#3 time of 12:44.89. Natalie Kwortnik won the long jump with a leap of 17-1.75 (PA#6).

Briana Fredericks of Neshaminy jumped 36-9.50 to win the triple jump. That slots her in at PA#2.
