A total of 21 high schools and nearly 600 athletes will be participating in the non-scoring meet, which will crown champions in 15 individual and three relay events for both boys and girls.
Thirteen individual champions are back to attempt to defend their 2003 victories, including Lewisburg sophomore Kalle James-Wintjen in the girls 100 and 200 meters along with Bloomsburg senior Colton Fisher in the boys 100 and 200 meters.
Other boys\' returning champions include Bloomsburg senior David Flores in the 110 hurdles, Danville senior Eric Dieck in the 300 hurdles, Selinsgrove senior Tom Ede in the shot put, Warrior Run senior Mike Marr in the high jump, and Lewisburg senior Michael Popp in the pole vault.
Lewisburg senior Chris Spooner is the defending champion and meet record-holder in the 1600 meters, but will compete in the 3200 meters on Saturday.
In addition to James-Wintjen, other returning girls champions are Lewisburg junior Becky Rautzhan in the shot put, Lewisburg sophomore Casey Sims in the long jump, Warrior Run junior Laura Laidacker in the triple jump, and Williamsport senior Kirsten Schuyler in the high jump.
Admission to the meet is free and a full concession stand will be available.
