AA Girls' 400m Preview
After a second place finish last season, Neumann Goretti's Mykala Perry will aim for her first individual state title. As a freshman, Perry took runner-up honors to senior Nicole Scherer. But this year, Perry has been on a roll. She went 54.94 at PCLs to take the win and then won the District 12 title less than a week later. She'll be tough to beat on Saturday.
Penns Valley's Isabella Culver will look to put herself in the mix. The junior had a breakthrough performance at to win the District 6 title, going 56.82, almost a two second PR. She was eighth a year ago, but she can move up this time around. The only other returner from last year's final in the field is Sage Harmon of Bloomsburg. She has a best of 58.12 this spring.
Hickory's Morgan Donatelli will be a big threat. She ran 57.76 to win the District 10 title, setting a new PR in the process. She's had a very strong spring to this point. Watch out for the District 5 duo of Kaitlyn Maxwell (Everett Area) and Lorna Spiegle (Shade). Maxwell edged out Speigle for the district crown. Both will have a good chance to place high on the podium at Ship.
