Varsity Classic - Boys' Recap

The Downingtown West boys launched themselves to the top of the state rankings in the DMR. The Whippets went 10:36.54 for fourth place overall and a new PA#1. Lower Merion went to PA#2 with a sixth place finish in the race, clocking a time of 10:38.52.

Lower Merion's Devon Tate took the win in the 55 meters, running a PA#3 time of 6.49. Kai Cummings of Germantown Friends went 49.51 to take the win in the 400 meters, just off his own PA#4 time. 

Jonah Hoey of Bishop Shanahan had a solid day. The junior went 4:24.87, a PA#4 to win the 1600 meters. He came back to take second in the 800 meters in 1:57.62.

Downingtown West's Payton Sewall placed second in the 3200 meters in 9:40.38, a PA#3 time. 

Bensalem took the win in the 4x400-meter relay 3:28.84.
