Watch Sydney Horn Vault a PA No. 3 All-Time 13-6

Sydney Horn made moves up the Pennsylvania all-time list in the pole vault on Monday.

At a dual meet against J.P. McCaskey, the Manheim Township junior cleared 13 feet, 6 inches to capture the win and improve on her own state lead in the event. That jump moves Horn up to No. 3 on PA's all-time outdoor list. She now trails only her sister, Mackenzie Horn (13-7.25 in 2018), and South Williamsport's Katie Jones (13-7 in 2017). Jones holds the top pole vault mark of all-time with a 13-9.25 from the indoor season in 2017.

Despite a little contact with the bar, Sydney Horn got over 13-6 and improved on her personal best in the event. She'll resume action this coming weekend at the Lebanon-Lancaster League Championships.

This past Saturday, Victoria Atkinson of Scranton Preparatory cleared 13-1.5 at the James Cross Wilkes-Barre Invitational with room to spare, which moved her up to PA No. 5 all-time. With both girls over 13 feet this season, and State College's Lyndsey Reed, who vaulted over 13 feet multiple times during the indoor season, the field in PIAA Class AAA is loaded with talent as we head into the postseason.
