AAA Girls' 4x100m Relay Preview
Much like the AA girls, it will be an absolute battle for the win in the AAA 4x100 meter relay. Six teams have run sub-48 this season and it's going to be close for the win.
The top squad for much of the season has been Warwick. The Warriors were the 4x200 state champions from the indoor season and it's carried over to the 4x1 this spring. They ran 47.25 at the Penn Relays, a season best and PA No.1. With three girls in serious medal contention in the open 100, Warwick has no shortage of sprint talent and it may carry them to a 4x1 title.
Their L-L League and District 3 rivals from Conestoga Valley have been strong this season, too. The Buckskins have a season best of 47.85 (PA No. 4) and should contend for the win, as well.
District 1 has an abundance of talented squads capable of winning this state title. Behind an epic anchor leg from Jaleezia Gibson, Harry S. Truman won the D1 title with a 47.74 (the Tigers have a season best of 47.40 from the Penn Relays). Coatesville, Cheltenham, and North Penn were all not too far behind in that District 1 final. These squads are battled-tested and could all make some serious noise at Ship.
WPIAL champs Mount Lebanon, along with Downingtown West, Penn Wood, Upper Darby, Carlisle and Penn Hills, will be medal threats in the always-exciting AAA 4x1.
