Diggs Takes Down Own 300m State Record With Millrose Win

The remarkable season of Talitha Diggs continued on Saturday at the Millrose Games with the sprinter capturing the win in the girls 300 meters.

Diggs went 37.67 to break her own Pennsylvania state record and improve on her own US No. 3 in the event. The Saucon Valley senior bested a strong field with Isabella Whittaker of Maryland placing second in 37.76. Diggs previously set the state record at last month's VA Showcase with a 37.99.

It's yet another strong performance in what has been a special season for the University of Florida signee. In total, it was her tenth win of the season, and certainly among her highest profile wins of the winter.

"ever since a young age I've been watching it," Diggs said of the Millrose Games. "To come out here and run that well, it's a dream come true."

Diggs was fast out of the gates and was able to maintain, taking the victory in her Millrose debut.

"In a high-intensity situation like the Millrose Games, you're going to have a lot of adrenaline," she said. "So going out a little harder than I would have liked to, I' still maintained my mentality, 'OK, I went out a little hard, but I have to keep running -- can't back off now.'"
