Leah Graybill wrapped up an impressive first year at Shippensburg University, breaking school records and finding the podium in a variety of events at the PSAC Championships. That strong freshman indoor campaign came on the heels of a terrific high school career at Warwick.
Perhaps a big turning point for her was the 2018 Cy Fritz Open at Millersville University. Graybill had a big day, winning the 100 meters, anchoring the winning 4x100 meter relay, and then closing out her day with a dominating performance in the 200 meters.
Graybill went 12.35 to win the 100 and 24.94 to win the 200 meters. Both of those times were top three times in the state of Pennsylvania at the time. She also led off Warwick's winning 4x100, which went 48.79 All of this came a day after the Warwick girls competed at the Penn Relays.
As a junior, Graybill medaled in both the 100 and 200 at the state meet. Then as a senior, she grabbed third in both events at the PIAA State Championships, scoring major points for the Warriors, which claimed the AAA team title.
Her big weekend, between the Penn Relays and the Cy Fritz Open, may have been a catalyst for what continues to be a great career for Graybill. Watch her races from Cy Fritz two years ago below:
