Though this XC season was different than any other we've ever seen due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Keystone State still saw a number of girls drop some serious time since last year on the trails. In total, 907 Pennsylvania girls saw an improvement in their time from 2019 to 2020.

Holy Redeemer's Grace Holmes topped the list with a monster improvement since last year of 6:43 in the 5K, going from 27 minutes to 20:46! Northwestern Lehigh's Emily Fagan also chopped off over 6 minutes of time since last year in the 5K.

Abby Steffler (above) of Grove City improved 2 minutes, 44 seconds since last year to run a best of 19:23 to take fifth at the District 10 Championships in Class AA. She placed 51st at the state meet.

To qualify for the list, each girl must have a cross country 5K performance in the MileSplit database in both 2019 and 2020. The list takes the difference between each athlete's best time in 2019 and 2020 and ranks it by largest improvement (most time cut off year-over-year). T...
