Price-Whitehead Betters Triple Jump PR In VA

It was another big weekend for Upper Dublin senior Jaden Price-Whitehead.

The University of South Carolina signee swept the horizontal jumps at the East Coast Invitational in Virginia Beach, Virginia on Friday, continuing what has been a strong indoor campaign for one of the best to ever do it in the Keystone State.

Price-Whitehead won the triple jump with a new personal best performance of 48-8 for a nice improvement over his previous personal best of 47-10.25. That moves him up three spots in the national rankings all the way up to US No. 3. Missouri's Johnny Brackins (50-0.25) and Texas' Michael Herzog (49-5) are the only two in the nation ahead of Price-Whitehead in the triple.

He then returned later in the meet to capture the win in the long jump with a best of 23-3.25 for yet another win on the season. Price-Whitehead's best in the long this season is 24-10.75 from the VA Beach Opener on Dec. 5. That performance is the best jump in the country so far this season.

Price-Whitehead also improved upon his own state lead in the 60 meters. After matching his season best of 7.06 in the 60 prelims, Price-Whitehead returned in the final and went 7.02 to take fifth in a strong field.
