Under the lights on Friday night, the fast times come out to play.

That's the way it's been at the Henderson Invitational for the last decade and a half. The month of May means the postseason is within our sights and the times start to reflect that. The 3200 meters has been one of the premiere events at the Henderson Invitational for all 15 iterations of the meet. 

With the 16th Henderson Invitational coming this Friday and Saturday, that should continue. There are loaded entries on both the girls and boys sides for the 3200 and the state and national rankings should see a nice shake up when the dust settles on Friday night.

So, let's look back on the history of the 3200 at the Henderson Invite.

Haley Pierce of Tatnall (DE) holds the girls meet record with a 10:11.80 from 2012. Marlee Starliper has the second fastest time in meet history --  a 10:17.41 as a sophomore in 2018. As a junior, Starliper set the Pennsylvania state record with a 9:54.75 at Loucks Games in New York.
