Watch Logan Zeiders Drop A PA No. 1 In The 400

The breakthrough season of Logan Zeiders continued on Friday, as the senior from York Suburban took over the state lead in the 400 meters.

Zeiders made some moves on the backstretch and really turned on the jets in the second half of the fastest section of the boys 400 at the Henderson Invitational. He had company in the form of LeBron Bessick from Coatesville, but Zeiders captured the win in 48.05.

It's a solid drop in time for Zeiders, who ran in the 48-high range in each of his last three invitational appearances, the first of which was a win at the Roddick Invitational at Shippensburg. The 48.05 from Henderson moves him up to the PA No. 1 spot, which has been held down by either James Jaisingh or David Williams of Cumberland Valley since the early part of the season.

Zeiders will face off with Jaisingh and Williams at the District 3 Championships back at Ship in a week and a half. That will be one of the most interesting races of districts week. Zeiders' performance this past week makes him the favorite for now. He's gone from relative unknown at the onset of the spring season to one of the top quarter milers in Pennsylvania.

It was a strong race for Bessick, too, who clocked a 48.42 for the second to Zeiders at Henderson. That puts the junior at PA No. 4, trailing only Zeiders and the CV duo.
