PIAA States Preview: Boys' Sprints & Hurdles

AA Boys 200m Preview

Like the 100 meters, Braeden Wisloski of Southern Columbia is the top seed. He became the first AA boy in the state to go under 22 seconds in the 200 meters this past week, clocking a 21.95 to win at the District 4 Championships. He's the one to beat in the 200 meters, too, and he'll look to leave Ship with a pair of individual state crowns.

There are a number of boys capable of giving him a run for his money. Trevor Paschall of North Catholic enters the meet as the No. 2 seed -- he went 22.37 at WPIALs, but he has a season best of 22.14. He'll be a factor coming off the 400 meters earlier in the meet.

Church Farm's Jason Lavoe owns the second fastest AA time of the season behind Wisloski. Lavoe went 22.09 to win the BAL title. He won District 1 in 22.75, but will certainly be in the mix for a high finish on Friday. Meanwhile, a bunch of others have run 22.50 or better this spring in the 200. Deer Lake's Nigel Rossman (22.30 SB), Southern Huntingdon's Kadin Moore (22.38 SB), Bloomsburg's Nasir Heard (22.39 SB), and Scranton Prep's London Montgomery (22.50 SB) will be ones to watch. Brookville's Jack Krug went 22.54 to win District 9 and will also be a medal contender.

Expect a good one here towards the end of the day on Friday.
