Micah Trusty kept her big season rolling on Friday at the John Hay Pennsylvania Distance Festival. Trusty, a junior at Friends' Central, won her section of the 800 meters at West Chester Henderson and moved up to PA No. 1 and US No. 5 with a considerable personal best.
Trusty went 2:07.03 to run away with the heat victory. It's five seconds faster than the time that she ran to win the 800 at the Henderson Invitational on the same track a month earlier. It moves her ahead of PIAA state champion Melissa Riggins (AA) and Kate Edenson (AAA) in the PA state rankings.
It's also a big PR for Trusty, who's previous best stood at 2:11.20 from the AAU Junior Olympic Games in 2018. It's the seventh fastest time in state history. With a full summer and then a senior season ahead of her, we'll see how much higher on the list Trusty can get.
