Meet Preview: PAISAA Championships

PAISAA Championships - Boys Preview

Expect an exciting race up front for the top individual spot in the PAISAA. Westtown's William Nagy won the Friends League title on his home course last week, and holds the PAISAA's fast 5K this season at 16:19. In the Friends League, he out-dueled the solid Germantown Friends duo of Simon Donovan and PJ Kresloff, who will both be factors near the front of this race.

Inter-Ac champion Aidan McHugh of Epsicopal should be in the mix for the win, as well. He's coming off his league title and has a lot of momentum coming into PAISAAs. His teammate Michael Woolery had an off day at Inter-Acs, but will look to bounce back on Saturday. Inter-Ac runner-up Alex Badami of Germantown Academy is another one to watch in this field. Nagy looks to be the favorite, but he'll have some company up front that will make this a close race.

The team race will be a battle between Germantown Friends and Episcopal Academy. Both were blow out winners at their respective league championship meet. Germantown Friends won the Friends League with just 22 points, while Episcopal claimed the Inter-Ac crown with 21 points. The two teams have not squared off yet this season, so this should be a compelling matchup with the state title on the line.
