Singleton Rolls To 4:13 1,600m At YSU

CJ Singleton kept his big season going on Saturday, rolling to a new PA No. 1 in the 1,600 meters at Youngstown State.

Singleton, a senior at Butler, clocked a 4:13.47 in what was mostly a solo effort in Ohio. The Notre Dame recruit went out hard, and had some company up front early on, but soon pulled away and clicked off some quick splits en route to a new state-leading time. That time is also a US No. 5.

Saturday's performance comes a few weeks after another strong showing at YSU, where he ran a 9:02 for 3,200m, which is currently PA No. 2. It's been an impressive indoor season for Singleton, who has only raced twice but has made the most out of both of those opportunities.
