PA Pole Vaulters Soared this Week

Pole Vaulters were the talk of the town this past week - as 14 boys jumped over 13 feet and four girls jumped over 12 feet.

On the boys side - Breckin Swope lead the way with his Pennsylvania leading jump of 15-0. That currently ranks as the US eighth best mark by a junior this season. Drake Risser also continued his impressive start to the season. He cleared 14-8, which is a New Indoor Personal Best.

We also saw a potential preview of a PTFCA Championship bout. At the DVGTCA Meet 6, Maddy Kelley and Veronica Vacca went head-to-head. Vacca eventually cleared 12-9, to take the victory.

Vacca is certainly a force to be reckoned with. She currently holds the Sophomore State Record in the event, after she cleared 13-6 earlier this year. Maddy Kelley falls fourth on the Sophomore All-Time list, and has also jumped 13-6 this year. The two are currently tied a-top the Pennsylvania leaderboards.
