Boys' Notes and Ones to Watch
1A Boys - 1:45 PM
Qualifying - 4 Teams and 20 Individuals
Individuals: Watch out for Jaxon Schoedel (Mohawk). He just won the 1A race at TSTCA and he looked like he had a lot in the tank. He'll have to challenge Eden Christian's Nathan Garrett, who has consistently been the best 1A runner in District 7. Others to watch include: Ethan Haring (Eden Christian).
Teams: Eden Christian, Riverview, Winchester Thurston, Ellwood City
2A Boys - 3:35 PM
Qualifying - 4 Teams and 20 Individuals
Individuals: Whatever Drew Griffith runs in the morning, Ryan Pajak (Ringgold) may try to better it. Its unlikely that he'll have a challenge to his District title. Patrick Burgos (Elizabeth Forward), Dale Hall (Hampton), Julian Kletz (Montour), Clark Lalomia (Quaker Valley), Michael Braun (Freeport) and Giacomo Lepore (North Catholic) could all contend for second. Collectively, they are a very talented group of athletes. Dale Hall just out-kicked Patrick Burgos to win the TSTCA Championship
Teams: PA #4 Hampton will look to defend its district title. PA #20 Quaker Valley, Montour, Beaver Area, Kiski
3A Boys - 11:45 AM
Qualifying - 2 Teams and 10 Individuals
Individuals: Truth be told, Drew Griffith could run something phenomenal enroute to his second straight District Championship. He ran 14:21 a couple of weeks ago to set the state record, and then 15:09 last week to set the new White Oak Park course record. At the very least, that mark will get shattered.
Griffith will be in a league of his own, but Jack Bertram (North Allegheny) will look to run a fast time as well. He'll look to lock up second place. Others to watch include Rowan Gwin, Ethan Vaughan and Alaa-Eddine Guetari.
Teams: PA #11 Butler and PA #6 North Allegheny could be close with each other in the team scoring. North Allegheny beat Butler by less than five points at the TSTCA Championship last weekend. Also watch Fox Chapel Area and Norwin.

Quaker Valley currently leads the WPIAL in total 'individual' athletes sent to States since 2000. Can North Allegheny pass them this year? Statistics provided by Pete Wilton.
Runners that are part of a State Qualifying Team who ran faster than the last individual qualifier are
included in a school's total.
For instance, in 2023, AAA Boys sent two teams to states. The next best 10 individuals not part of those
teams also went to States. Any boy on the top 2 teams who placed higher than the last individual
qualifier are added to that team's totals.
