VOTE: PA Athlete of the Week (10/14 - 10/20)

The results are in after more than 45,000 votes were cast, Grace Trimmer (Uniontown Area) and Nolan Yeagle (La Salle College HS) are this week's PA Athletes of the Week.

Trimmer earns recognition after running 19:30 to dominate her way to victory at the Fayette County Coaches Association Championship. She beat the entire field by over a minute.

Yeagle takes the boy's crown thanks to his 14th-place finish at the Manhattan College Cross Country Invitational. He was the top PA athlete, running 12:56 on the 2.5-mile course, pacing La Salle College HS to a fifth-place finish in the team race.

This week, many conference, league and county meets were hosted statewide, making for some exciting showdowns. Some athletes competed out of state as well. Each week - The PA MileSplit crew will nominate multiple athletes and allow you to vote for the Runner of the Week. This week's poll will close on Wednesday (October 23rd) at 8:00 pm EST.

The Week's Girls Candidates:

Mackenzie Skelly (Penn Charter) - Skelly, an eighth grader, won the Inter-Ac League Championships in an impressive 18:02.00. She won by over 30 seconds, pacing Penn Charter to the team title. 

Lillian DiCola (Hatboro Horsham) - DiCola took the Suburban One League Championships crown in 17:52.70. She impressively topped the field by over two minutes. 

Chloe May (Bedford) - May earned the LHAC Championships title, running a massive personal best of 17:44.80. She held off Emily Fisher (Somerset Area) by just over ten seconds. 

Olivia Cieslak (Haverford Township) - Cieslak beat Alexia Tubbs (Conestoga) at the line to win the Central Athletic League XC Championship by 0.66 seconds. Cieslak ran 18:39.07, leading Haverford Township to the team victory. 




The Week's Boys Candidates:

Adam Kingston (Manheim Township) - Kingston won the Lancaster Lebanon League Championships in 15:10.50, beating the field by over 35 seconds. He led his teammates Ethan Peffley and Cole Stevens to a 1-2-3 finish, ultimately winning the team race. 

Justin Landis (North Penn) - Landis dominated his way to the Suburban One League Championship title, running 15:21.70. His effort led North Penn to the league team title. 

Michael Braun (Freeport Area) - Braun was the top Pennsylvanian in the field at the VA XC Showcase. He clocked a massive personal best of 15:05.50. 

Steven Todd (Bishop Shanahan) - Todd won a close race at the Ches-Mont XC Championship in 15:28.30. He held off Ryan Pepperman (Great Valley) by just under three seconds.
