10/19-Act II goes to Parkland in XC drama with ACC. This one at Lehigh Valley Conference meet.

Act II goes to Parkland in the continuing drama with Allentown Central Catholic. ACC took Act I last week in a dual meet, and in the first rematch, the Lehigh Valley League meet at Lehigh University, Parkland placed five in the top 12 for just 30 points, posting a team compression of 1:47. Missing their 2nd and 3rd runners, ACC ended up 4th with 82. Easton was 2nd with 66, and Liberty 3rd with 75. The coveted one point went to Parkland thanks to a big PR by Erin Roberts, 1st in 18:25. Freedom star and two-time state champ Loretta Dezubay dropped out with a calf strain on the slick course. Parkland coach Loretta Dodson credited strong team leadership with the rebound from last week\'s loss, and was particularly pleased with Roberts\' PR. \"She does everything we ask her to do.\"

ACC coach Jack Pressman said that he held out his two runners to be prepared for the more critical District meet, but that \"if Parkland runs at Districts and States like they ran today, they will win both no matter who they are running against in PA.\"

Emmaus star Sam Luff continued his tune-up for Districts with a very strong 15:49 win over Tyler McCandless of Northampton, 2nd in 16:03. But it was Chrsis Pates of Liberty with a 3rd place 16:15 to lead Liberty to the boys title for four over Parkland, 50-54.
