Week 5 Winners: Jonah Montagnese and Josephine Lenart
Jonah Montagnese and Josephine Lenart earned last weeks performer of the week honors. Jonah won the AA race at Foundations last week in a time of 16:14. He also ran 15:06 good for PA #3 last week at a league meet. In both races he won in dominant fashion leading both wire to wire.
Lenart won the A race at foundations last weekend in a time of 19:48. She may just be a freshman but that time on a difficult Hershey course will have her contending for a state medal come later this fall.
This weekend kicked off some championship racing and we come closer and closer to the PIAA State Championships. There were 3 big races this weekend with Delcos, Six Flags, and Carlisle. Many great performances came from all 3 of the big meets this weekend. (Polls will close Friday, October 3rd at 8am EST)
This Weeks Boy's Candidates:
Theo Oppermann (State College 06) - Theo raced at Carlisle this weekend and the top 3 finishers in the race were separated by just .1 seconds. Opperman finisher less than .1 seconds ahead of his teammate in a time of 15:19.8 and placed 2nd overall.
Luke Bradbury (State College 06) - Luke technically placed 3rd at Carlisle this weekend in a time of 15:19.8 looking like the exact same time as his teammate Theo. This duo looks unstoppable this year as a 2 3 finish by just .1 seconds.
Teddy Foster (Haverford Township 01) - Teddy won Delco XC Championships this past weekend in a very competitive race. Foster won the race in a time of 16:26 on a very difficult and hilly Rose Tree course.
William Edgar (Cheltenham 01) - Edgar won the A Varsity race at Six Flags Wild Safari in dominate fashion winning by 28 seconds. William ran 15:34 en route to his victory.
Ben Brasfield (Shipley School) - Ben won the D Varsity race at Six Flags Wild Safari in a time of 15:44. The victory was 9 seconds ahead of the 2nd place finisher.
This Weeks Girl's Candidates:
Kendra Williamson (Episcopal Academy) - Kendra won Delco Xc Championships in what looks like a workout. She dominated the race wire to wire and looked unfazed doing so. Williamson ran 18:37 en route to her 26 second victory.
Ana Bondy (Carlisle 03) - Ana ran 17:48 en route to her 3rd place finish at Carlisle Invite.
Annie Moniz (Lower Moreland 01) - Annie placed 2nd in the Varsity C race and was the top PA finisher at Six Flags Invite. Moniz ran 18:05.
Nieve Keitel (Germantown Academy) - Keitel ran 18:08 to place 2nd in the Varsity D race and was the 2nd fastest PA finisher on the day.
Bailey Wagner (North Penn 01) - Bailey ran 18:57 to place 4th in the Varsity A race at Six Flags Invite and was the top PA finisher in the race.
