Like the rest of PA, it was a gorgeous day in Selisgrove, as well, and the performances reflected that weather. A few of the athletes must have been so pleased they decided to keep most of the first-place medals among themselves. Lake Lehman senior thrower Brandon Burkhardt was a triple winnner, taking the Javelin with a throw of 195-10, and the Discus with a 158-07.75 toss. He was pushed in the latter event by Mount Carmel senior Sean Fracalossi, who was leading the competition until Burkhardt\'s final throw. And the Shot Put belonged to Burkhardt, too, with his 53-05.50 toss.
Other double winners included Danville senior Ben McDonnell with a meet record 50.17 in the 400 and a 1:59.43 for 800 meters; Selinsgrove junior Ryan Drzewicki with wins in both hurdles, going 15.38 for 110m and 41.12 for 300 meters; his teammate Jay Pagana, a senior, in the Long (20-11.50) and Triple (46-06.50 meet record) Jumps; State College junior Sara Scott, also in the jumps (16-06.00 and 35-09.00) Steve Thompson of Shikellamy, 4:34.53 1600 - 10:01.62 3200); and State College junior Katherine Ward, who is showing improvement week after week, with the same double - 5:11.50 and 11:23.56 - both big PRs. And showing they\'re ready to run with the best in PA, State College posted a 7:59.08 meet record in the 4x800.
