4/12 - Andy Lehatto pulls a fast double win

 

PennTrack Summary: Wilson's Andy Lehatto pulled a nice fast double win, taking the 100 in 10.69 and the 200 in 22.15. Twin Valley's Shawn Moore took the 1600 in 4:37.45 and the 3200 in 10:12.89. In the Hurdles, Tyler Kulp was a double winner for Boyertown, going 14.68 and 40.49. In the field, Wyomissing's Jon Hart threw the Shot 53-11.75 and the Discus 165-5 to win both events. In the girls' competition, Reading's Jessica Forrest went 12.09 to win the 100 and 25.59 to take the 200. Exeter's LeahKacanda won the Shot Put with a throw of 32-00.50 and the Discus with a toss of 110-7. Heather Patch, Saucon Valley, continued to dominate the sprint hurdles, taking the 100 in 14.79.

 

Summary by: Terry McKechniem, Schuylkill Valley Track Coach - A bright and windy day greeted Berks County Track & Field athletes for the 42nd running of the Leonard Stephan Meet at Wilson High School. The Stephan Meet is the first of three major meets in Berks County. Senior Andy Lehatto led Wilson to the boys team title with wins in the 100 (10.69, meet record), 200 (22.15) & as anchor of the 400 relay in a quick 43.54. Tyler Kulp of Boyertown took the 110H with a 14.68 with teammate Nate Tussey close behind in 14.69 and Reading's Matt Bailey in 3rd at 14.74. Kulp also took the 300H (40.49). Twin Valley's Shawn Moore doubled in the 1600 (4:37.45) and the 3200 (10:12.89). Jon Hart of Wyomissing won the discus with a meet record throw of 165'-5" and the SP (53'-11 3/4"). The high jump, won by Wilson's Jason Cape (6' 7"), saw 10 boys go 6'-3" or higher. Exeter's Brian Dodds won the PV at 14'-0". On the girls side, Governor Mifflin won the team title. Reading's soph Jessica Forrest ran a fast 100 (12.09) and 200 (25.59). Heather Patch of Schuylkill Valley won the 100H (14.79, meet record) and anchored her 400 relay to a win in 51.12. Wyomissing's Debbie Huss and Schuylkill Valley's Laura Pucul stayed on form with wins in the 1600 (5:05, Huss) and 300H (47.02, Pucul). Exeter's Leah Kacanda doubled in the SP (32'-0 1/2") and discus (110'-7"). Natalie Miller of Boyertown continued her fine high jumping with a win at 5'-5" and Jessica Moyer (Exeter) won the PV with a meet record height of 8'-9".
