5/1 - Krista Simkins another sophomore making waves this season

Wissahickon's Krista Simkins is another of the incredible class of sophomores making waves this season. Not that she didn't last year, but now she should be challenging for state titles, even with senior Tiffany Abney in the way. Simkins posted a triple win, going 23.7 in the 200, 55.4 in the 400 and 44.4 in the 300 Hurdles. Caitlin Klaas, Hatboro-Horsham, another of the super sophs, won the 800 in 2:14.8. Meghan Bishop, Gwynedd-Mercy, took the 1600 in 5:07.4 and the 3200 in 11:16.7. Bishop McDevitt's Chrissie Kapp won the 100 Hurdles in 15.5 and the Long Jump (16-07). On the boys side, North Penn is just biding their time for Districts. Running four events, and winning all four, was Matt Henderson, taking the 100 in 10.8, the 200 in 21.6, and anchoring both the 4x100 (42.7) and 4x400 (3:19.9) to victories. Norristown's Carl Dean captured the 400 in 50.;4 and the Long Jump (21-07). North Penn's ScottSimonovich dominated the Hurdles, winning the 110 in 14.7 and the 300 in 39.7.
