Seneca Valley Boys, Manheim Twp. Girls Make Big Statements: PIAA Foundation Invitational Recap

Boys' Blue Race - Recap

Perhaps no state title hopeful proved himself on Saturday more than Jersey Shore's Isaac Davis.

Davis blasted the fastest time of the day from the Blue Race, running away from South Fayette's Sam Snodgrass around the mile and never looking back. Davis clocked a 16:01, 20 seconds faster than his winning time from last year.

Davis hopes to be a serious factor in AA this fall and Saturday was a big step towards that goal.

Snodgrass, who won two weeks ago at the Red, White & Blue Classic, wound up second in 16:38. York Suburban's Bryce Ohl, after a conservative start, ran a great final half of his race to place third in 16:56. Bonner & Prendie's Anthony Harper was strong as well, taking fourth in 16:57.

Greensburg Salem took the next two spots with Mark Brown (16:57) and Cameron Binda (17:02) were fifth and sixth.

York Suburban, one of the favorites for the team title in AA, showed its strength winning the race and defending its Blue Race title. After Ohl, Jarrett Raudensky was eighth and Josh Kerr took 22nd, as YS scored 96 points for the win. Meanwhile, Indiana Area showed it could be one of AA's best in the WPIAL. Kendall Branan's 12th place finish paced Indiana, which scored 150 points. Greensburg Salem was third with 193 points.
