TSTCA Championships - Meet Recap
BOYS RECAP
South Fayette's Sam Snodgrass continued his strong senior year campaign with his second win of the season, taking the TSTCA title in a time of 16:57 on a challenging Cal U. course. Snodgrass outlasted second place Max Steffey of Pittsburgh Central Catholic, who ran 17:05.
Greensburg Salem took the next two spots with Mark Brown (third in 17:24) and Cameron Binda (fourth in 17:28).
Upper Saint Clair took the overall team title behind a sub-one minute 1-5 gap and 61 points. Robert O'Brien's sixth place finish in 17:31 led the way for USC. Pittsburgh Central Catholic was second with 72 points.
GIRLS RECAP
Gionna Quarzo put forth a strong individual effort to take the victory on the girls' side. Quarzo ran 20:26 for the win. Upper Saint Clair's Claire Hoffman was second in a time of 20:36. Baldwin's Macy Hale was third in 20:42, while fourth place went to Emma Andrasko of Greensburg Salem.
Quarzo's win helped lead Brownsville Area to the overall team win with 92 points. Sara Vance added a fifth place finish in 21:00 for the winners. Despite the absence of top girl and PA#2 Savannah Shaw, Upper Saint Clair took second in the overall team race just two points off the champs from Brownsville Area.
