John H. Shaner Memorial Meet Highlights
- Berks Catholic's Keeley Suzenski tossed the best throw of her career to win the shot put. She threw a PA#2 45-01.5.
- Wyomissing Area's Ben Kuhn won the 3,200 meters on Friday in 9:34 and then came back to win the 1,600 meters on Saturday in 4:21.75. His teammate Joe Cullen ran a PA#5 of 1:54.40 to win the 800.
- Brandon George of Berks Catholic won the shot put with a PA#8 toss of 53-08
- In the pole vault, Schuylkill Valley's Joe Jardine moved up to PA#4 with a clearance of 15-07.
Pine-Richland Invitational Highlights
- Hunter Robinson of Avonworth/Northgate keeps dazzling. The senior wen 11.98 (PA#3) to win the 100 meters and went 24.40 (PA#1) to win the 200 meters. She's the reigning state champ in both events and already PA#1 in the 400 meters.
- Quaker Valley's Franzi Nace won the triple jump with a leap of 38-06.25, a PA#6 performance.
- The girls' 800 meters offered one of the breakthrough performances of the week. Freshman Melissa Riggins of Shady Side Academy ran 2:16.19 for the win and a PA#14 time.
- Jacob Shedd of Franklin Regional also had a big breakout performance in the long jump. He leapt 23-08 to win the long jump, a PA#3 performance.
West Central Coaches Invitational Highlights
- State College Area's Esther Seeland showed off her range, winning the AAA 400 meters in 56.34, a PA#3 time.
- Kane Area's Trinity Clark had a huge day, sweeping the throws by winning the shot put (40-07), discus (124-10), and javelin (148-07).
- Zoe Roush of Forest Hills won the AA triple jump with a PA#8 leap of 38-05 to narrowly beat out Penn Cambria's Lauren Michina (38-00)
Helman Memorial Invitational Highlights
- Austin Kratz of Dock Mennonite went 10.31 in what was a very fast 100 meters. That improved upon his own PA#1 time. he also jumped 23-03 in the long jump, a PA#6. Central Bucks South's Michael Cannon Jr. went 10.76, a PA#3, to take second to Kratz in the 100.
- Pennridge's Matt Eissler (1:54.54) edged out Central Bucks West's Jake Claricurzio (1:54.68) to win the 800 meters. Eissler now sits at PA#6 in the event and Clarizcurzio is at PA#7. Three others went sub-1:57 in that race.
Montgomery Memorial Invitational Highlights
- Bensalem's Yobani Moreno had another strong day in the throws, winning the shot put (55-06.5) and the discus (167-10). That disc throw is a new PA#4.
- William Tennent's Randy Showmaker cleared 15-0, a PA#6 to win the pole vault on his home runway.
- Neshaminy's Logan Williamson leapt 46-09 to win the triple jump and set a new PA#4 jump.
- Savion Hebron of Neshaminy went 21.66 for the win and anew PA#2 in the 200 meters.
Trojan Track Classic
- Cheltenham's Ni Asia Williams dropped a quick time of 11.95 to win the 100 meters and then she came back to win the 200 meters in 24.97. Those are PA#2 and PA#6 times, respectively.
- Madison Langley-Walker of Upper Dublin had a big day, winning a trio of events: 100-meter hurdles (PA#2 14.05), triple jump (39-01.5), and the long jump (PA#5 18-09.5).
- The 300-meter hurdles were quick, but no one was faster than Taylor O'Brien of Plymouth Whitemarsh, who went 43.99, a PA#2 for the win.
- North Penn's Natalie Kwortnik went 56.68 in the 400 meters for the win and a new PA#5.
- Rasheed Wright of Wissahickon ran a PA#6 time of 49.23 to win the 400 meters.
Delco Girls' Championships Highlights
- Grace Forbes of Strath Haven had a very strong meet at the county champs. She ran a PA#1 time of 2:13.56 to take over the state lead in the event. She also ran a 4:54.81 to win the 1,600 meters, which is a new PA#2.
- Also in that 800, Radnor's Keara Seasholtz dropped a big PR of 2:14.21 to finish second to Forbes. That time's a new PA#5. Jessica Schneider of the Academy of Notre Dame ran a PA#8 time of 4:58 to take second in the 1,600 meters.
- Ridley's Meghan Lynch jumped 38-00 to win the triple jump.
Lower Merion Invitational Highlights
- Harry S. Truman's Sayyid Saunders threw down a PA#2 in the 100 meters, winning in 10.64, which is a career best. he was also apart of Truman's winning 4x100-meter, which went 42.07. Truman now has the two fastest 4x1s in the state so far this season.
- Westtown's Julian Klenner went 48.51, a PA#2, to win the 400 meters and move well up the state rankings. Lex Forge of Conestoga ran 49.16 for second and a new PA#6.
- Conestoga's Grace Lanouette had a strong day in the sprints. She won the 200 meters in 24.70, a PA#3, and took second in the 100 meters in 12.14. Truman's Jaleezia Gibson won the 100 in 12.14 (both girls are at PA#9). Central's Lauryn James was second in the 200 in 25.00 (PA#7).
- West York Area's Tesia Thomas jumped to PA#3 in the triple jump with a big leap of 39-04.5 for the win.
Blue Streak Relays Highlights
- Penn Manor's Alexander Scheivert rose to the top of the Pennsylvania state rankings in the javelin. The senior launched a throw of 206-8, a new PA#1 for the win.
- Ephrata's Elie Basenga jumped 6-07 for the high jump win, just off his season best and PA#1 (6-08).
More Week 7 Highlights
- At the Penn-Jersey League Meet #2, Thelma Davies of Girard College ran 12.10 in the 100 meters, a PA#5 time that gives her a district-qualifying performance.
- At the Delco Boys' Championships, the king of the distance races was Elias Lindgren of Episcopal Academy. The senior won the 3200 meters on Friday in 9:44.96 and then he came back on the Saturday to win the 1600 meters in a PA#2 time of 4:18.34 and then the 800 meters in 1:56.29.
- At the James Cross Wilkes-Barre Invitational, Scranton Preparatory's Victoria Atkinson cleared 12-05, a big all-time best, to win the girls' pole vault and move up to PA#4.
- At the Lady Rocker Invitational, it was a battle of the Council Rocks in the girls' high jump. Council Rock North's Kate Donnelly and Council Rock South's Gianna Hollister each cleared 5-05, both PA#5 performances. Donnelly earned the win on attempts.
