PIAA States Preview: Girls' Sprints/Hurdles

AAA Girls' 4x400m Relay Preview

To end the day on Saturday, we'll get what we expect to be a terrific race in the girls' 4x400-meter relay in AAA. Each squad will have some very tired legs, but it will be a close one.

The top seed and favorites are from Avonworth/Northgate. Led by the state's top 400 meter runner, Hunter Robinson, A/N has a tremendous amount of talent and it could lead them to the title. But a number of teams have season bets not far off the favorites and it should create plenty of anchor leg drama.

Cheltenham came from behind to nip Coatesville in the closing meters to win the District 1 title. Cheltenham was second a year ago. The defending champions from North Penn are also in the field. Central Bucks West and the the always-strong girls from Penn Wood are also there.

Warwick took home the District 3 title, beating out Susquehanna Township. Both of those teams will be in the mix. The same goes for Butler, the WPIAL runners-up, and South Fayette, which took third at WPIALs.

As always, the 4x4 will make sticking around until the end worth the wait.
