AA Girls' 100m Hurdles Preview
The defending champion Brenna Cavanaugh of Bentworth is back, looking to defend her title. Last year as a junior, she went 14.44 in the finals to take the crown. She went 14.51 to win the WPIAL this past week and looks strong coming into the weekend.
She'll face plenty of competition, though. Susquehanna Community's Skyla Wilson was second a year ago and she's back. The third place finisher from 2017, Sydni Townsend of Neumann Goretti, also returns. This final will have plenty of firepower and a clean race is pivotal.
Also back from last year's final is Lakeview's Kendra Benton, who should be a factor as well. Freshman Tia Taylor of Saint Basil has wasted little time making her presence felt. The ninth grader rolled to the District 1 title and should contend with those talented returners.
United's Michaela Bracken, Holy Cross' Jillian Warabak, Athens Area's Ariana Gambrell, and Saint Basil's Sasha Lee will also have their eyes on the final.
