48 AA boys team opened their 2014 seasons on a warm weekend and one District 2 program opened in very impressive fashion.

The boys at Scranton Prep opened their season with a victory at the Cliff Robbins Invitational on Saturday by a wide margin. A 1-5 spread of just 55 seconds and four runners in the top 20 helped the team earn a team title. The team ran six seniors in their top seven, with their top five all breaking 18 minutes. No one else in the division has more than 3 at the moment. Meadville Area out of District 10 finished behind AAA team Butler at the McDowell Invitational. They were the only team to place three in the top 20, all under 18 minutes, with their #4 runner close to dipping under. Berwick were a good distance behind Scranton Prep on Saturday, despite having Dylan Gearinger finish 3rd overall in his best race of his career.
