Villa Maria Academy earned a 2nd consecutive runner up finish, this time finishing behind AAA Mount Lebanon in the AAA race at Slippery Rock. Claire Brown led her team with a 4th place finish and her best race of the season. The squad has shown its depth in the early weeks, carrying 3 sub 20 minute runners and seven sub 21:20 runners. Only two other teams have 2 sub 20 minute runners in the division. Scranton Prep finished 3rd at the Spiked Shoe Invite with a 73 second spread between their 1st and 5th runners. The team has six runners under 20:50, the best in the division. Erin Feeney also gives the District 2 squad a big presence up front. Northwestern Lehigh carry the best 1-5 spread in the division of 42 seconds, and those tactics nearly gave them a big win over Parkland at the Centaur Invitational.
