Malvern Prep reminded everyone why they were voted as the top team in the state heading into Saturday’s Paul Short Run. The Friars scored 118 points to defeat Cumberland Valley by 47, with sub 16 minute performances from Jaxson Hoey and Billy McDevitt. All scoring five runners broke 16:30. Germantown Friends competed in the same race and finished 13th with Nick Dahl running 15:41 to finish 10th. The Haverford School finished 9th in the White race with 344 points led by Alex Kim’s 6th place finish. Mercersburg finished 16th with 434 points.

Individually, Gabriel Allgayer of Mercersburg Academy won the White race at Paul Short with a big personal best of 15:50, the 4th fastest time in the Independent division. Billy McDevitt of Malvern Prep ran a lifetime best 15:40 to put him 3rd on the list. Another handful of runners also met the MileSplit Silver Elite standard.
