Nick Dahl went south last weekend, and over this past weekend, the Germantown Friends' senior went north.
After propelling his team to a second place finish in the DMR at the VA Showcase in Lynchburg, Virginia, Dahl joruneyed up to New England for the Yale Track Classic in New Haven, Connecticut. In a very strong 3000 meter field filled with runners from a variety of states, Dahl took second to Dalton Hengst of McDonogh in Maryland (though Hengst is a PA resident).
Dahl ran 8:30, good enough for a state leading time by 14 seconds and a US#2, just behind Hengst's performance. In fact, the nation's top three times in the 3K and four of the top five times came from that Yale race. Dahl's time was faster than Jake Brophy's winning time from last year's indoor state meet.
